Livelihoods & Food Security
We believe that sustainable livelihoods and food security are the cornerstones of resilient communities.
Our Livelihoods and Food Security Program is dedicated to enhancing the economic resilience and self-sufficiency of individuals and households, particularly those living in vulnerable and drought-prone regions.
Our Approach
We empower communities by equipping them with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to build stable and sustainable sources of income.
We support communities through initiatives such as:
Vocational and technical training (TVET) to improve employability and practical skills
Microfinance and entrepreneurship support to enable small business creation
Cash distribution and relief programs for vulnerable households in crisis
Water trucking and Non-Food Item (NFI) support during drought and emergencies
Market linkage programs that connect local producers to wider opportunities
Building Resilience and Inclusion
By empowering individuals to secure meaningful work or start their own enterprises, our programs:
Reduce poverty and dependency on aid
Improve living standards and household food stability
Promote social inclusion and equality, especially among youth and women
Strengthen the capacity of vulnerable groups to adapt to economic and climatic challenges
Our Vision
Through livelihoods and food security interventions, YAPAD envisions communities that are economically empowered, food secure, and resilient to shocks.
We remain committed to supporting sustainable growth, innovation, and dignity through work and opportunity.
